Operator Licence Awareness Training (OLAT)

The Traffic Commissioners require all Operators to agree to certain undertakings when granting an O'Licence. These undertakings are the benchmark for effective running of any transport operation and are referred to when calling Operators to Public Inquiries. There is an expectation that, as with Transport Managers, Operators and those in senior transport roles keep their knowledge refreshed and updated. The recommendation would be at intervals not exceeding 5 years.

Should your Operation be FORS accredited then there is also a condition under M3 Responsible Persons that they have attended an OLAT course in the last 5 years.

If for any reason you are called to a Public Inquiry then we strongly recommend attending this course prior to the hearing to prove your willingness to learn and correct any previous misgivings you may have had.
